Period Power Collection Drive

1 in 6 Canadians have experienced period poverty. Period poverty is a harsh reality faced by too many people in our city. All too often Winnipeggers living on a low income end up missing school or work because of a period. And for someone experiencing homelessness, it’s even harder getting monthly menstrual supplies. Access to menstrual products is critical to a quality education, good mental health, and the well-being of our communities.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Each year, United Way Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Labour Council join forces for the Period Power Collection Drive during the month of May.

We will be collecting NEW, unopened packs of menstrual pads, tampons, cups, and other menstrual products. We are asking Unions to help us by collecting menstrual products and donations, sharing this information with Locals and Workers, and working with workplaces to set up collection drives. The collection bin will be located outside the Local 2603 Union Office until the end of May.
